Matthew B. Madsen, Esquire

Matthew Madsen performs work on a variety of traditional labor law issues, including arbitrations, litigation, and matters involving federal and state administrative agencies.  He is licensed to practice law in the State of  New Jersey.

Coming from a union family, Matthew attended law school with purpose of becoming a labor lawyer in order to advocate for the rights of working people.  He received his Juris Doctor degree from Cornell Law School in 2017.  During his time at Cornell, Matthew spent two semesters working in the Labor Law Clinic, where he drafted a union’s first collective bargaining agreement, helped a client in a wage and hour dispute, and successfully arbitrated his first case.  He was also a member of the Cornell Journal of Law and Public Policy.

Prior to joining O’Brien, Belland & Bushinsky, Matthew gained experience clerking in both the public and private legal sectors.  He gained an inside perspective of state administrative agencies while working at the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office, which he has used to assist clients in pursuing administrative remedies when appropriate.

He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, magna cum laude, from Montclair State University in 2011.
